Vulnerability Detection Data

Vulnerability Detection Overview

The Vulnerability Overview contains the following information:

  • Vulnerabilities detected in Portfolio – A chart showing confirmed vulnerabilities detected in your portfolio out of all Bitsight-supported vulnerabilities.
  • Exposure 14 day Trend – The number of trending vulnerabilities during the past 14 days.
  • Recently Supported Vulnerabilities – Vulnerabilities that were most recently added to the Bitsight platform.

Vulnerability Detection Actions

Action Instructions
Export your Vulnerability Detection data and download it as a CSV: Select the Download button at the top-right.
Filter vulnerabilities: Use the filters on the left. See available filters that correspond to the fields and additional filters.
See vulnerability data: Select a vulnerability.
Search for a vulnerability: Use the search bar at the top-right to search by vulnerability name.

Vulnerability Detection Fields (& Filters)

Field Description Filters
Currently Exposed The number of companies exposed to this vulnerability in the past 60 days. Select a range on the number of companies that are currently exposed.
Exposure Trend The trend in the number of companies in your portfolio that are exposed to this vulnerability.
  • Increasing
  • Flat
  • Decreasing
First Seen The date when this vulnerability was first detected in your portfolio.

Include vulnerabilities that were first seen in the past:

  • 7d (days)
  • 1m (month)
  • 3m (months)
  • Custom
Previously Exposed The number of companies exposed to this vulnerability over 60 days ago. No
Severity Details The CVSS score of this vulnerability. Learn more about the difference between Bitsight Severity and the CVSS scoring models. 0-10 CVSS v3 score.
Vulnerability The name of this vulnerability. Search bar.

Additional Vulnerability Detection Filters

  • Folder: Use the context switcher to specify a folder or include this to filter by folder.
  • Vulnerability Detected: Include only detected vulnerabilities.

The Vulnerability Overview contains the following information:

  • Vulnerability Details:
    • Vulnerability ID or Name
    • Description
    • Severity
    • Remediation
  • Current Exposure = The number of clients that may be exposed to this vulnerability.

Action Instructions
Export your Vulnerability data and download it as a CSV: Select the Download button at the top-right.
Filter your portfolio: Use the filters on the left. See available filters that correspond to the fields and additional filters.
Search for a client relating to the vulnerability: Use the search bar at the top-right to search by company name.
View exposure and evidence details: Select a company to see their Exposure and Evidence sheet for the vulnerability. See the included details.

Field Description Filters
Company Name The name of this company. Search bar.
Evidence Certainty The level of certainty that a vulnerability has been confirmed to exist and poses a risk. Yes
First Seen The date when this vulnerability was first detected for this company.

  • 3m (months)
  • Custom
Last Seen The date when this vulnerability was last detected for this company.

Exposure and Evidence Sheet

Folder: Use the context switcher to specify a folder or include this to filter by folder.

Action Instructions
Download your Vulnerability Detection report (.pdf): Select the Download button at the top-right.
Invite a client to collaborate via the Enable Access Program: Select the Send Invitation button.

Sheet Fields

  • Exposure Details:
    • Detection: Exposure status.
    • Evidence Certainty: The level of certainty that a vulnerability has been confirmed to exist and poses a risk.
    • First Seen Exposure [date]
    • Last Seen Exposure [date]
  • Summary: A summary of the exposure.
  • Evidence of Exposure: Evidence records pertaining to the company.
