Glossary of Terms

These terms are used across the Bitsight VRM products.

• Finding: Questions or concerns that can be communicated to the third party being assessed and include expected remediation plan or outcome. Findings provide a way to kick off conversations about issues that may arise within an assessment.
• Internal Contacts: The contacts within your organization that are responsible for working the assessment, maintain the business relationship with the third party organization, and/or requested the assessments.
• Internal Documents: Any documentation that contributed to the assessment and is best stored within the vendor record.
• Multi-Profiles: Having multiple profiles, which enhances operational efficiency.
• Profile: A profile represents a company segment that operates with enough independence to justify separate management within the Vendor Risk Management (VRM) or Trust Management Hub (TMH) applications.
• Vendor Alias: Ties associated vendor domains together. The primary web presence domains are matched with any children domains and/or email domains.
