Beginning November 12, 2024, Google will no longer trust new TLS certificates signed by several Entrust root certificates. Mozilla confirmed similar actions and will completely distrust these certificates beginning on December 1, 2024. The list of Entrust root certificates that will no longer be trusted by Google and Mozilla is available here. Certificates signed by Entrust after October 31, 2024 will be graded as FAIR. Certificates signed by Entrust after November 30, 2024 will be graded as WARN.
What's Changing in Bitsight?
Assuming there are no other issues with a certificate, SSL Certificate findings grading will change as follows:
- Certificates signed by Entrust before or on November 11th, 2024: No change to the grade.
- Certificates signed by Entrust after November 11th, 2024: These will be graded with a FAIR grade.
- Certificates signed by Entrust after November 30th, 2024: These will be graded with a WARN grade.
This change is consistent with our SSL Certificates grading policy.
