Debian

Standard releases of Debian are supported for 1 year after the most recent update. Learn more about Long Term Support (LTS) life cycles for Debian.

Fedora

Microsoft Windows

The general support life cycle of Microsoft products are split into two periods – the first half with “Mainstream Support,” followed by the second half with “Extended Software Support (ESU).” Learn more about Windows ESU.

Desktop Software and Mobile Software records with ESU are graded in the following manner:

• GOOD: From the date of release to the End-of-Life (EOL).
• FAIR: The first and second years of ESU.
• WARN: The third through fifth years of ESU (if available).
• BAD: The end of ESU and start of EOL.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Red Hat provides an Extended Life Cycle Support (ELS) annual add-on subscription that extends limited subscription services beyond the Maintenance Support 2 Phase.

SUSE provides a Long Term Service-pack Support (LTSS) program with continued access to technical support, maintenance, and security patches for selected products that have reached the end of their general support date.

Ubuntu Linux

Main and restricted packages in Long Term Support (LTS) releases are supported for 5 years. UbuntuFlavors packages are generally supported for 3 years in LTS releases, but there are exceptions. See the Ubuntu Linux release notes for specific details.
