Bitsight AI Mode analyzes the data and returns findings and recommendations about your security posture, risks, and vendor exposure. You can ask questions in Chat or run a preconfigured agentic workflow.
This article describes how to use Bitsight AI Mode, including Chat, agentic workflows, and AI Mode settings.
Best practices
- Be specific in Chat. More detail produces more targeted results.
- Use agentic workflows for recurring tasks.
- Review findings and recommendations before acting on them.
- Use Chat to explore and validate. Use agentic workflows for standardized, repeatable analysis.
What are the two ways to use AI Mode?
| Chat | Agentic workflows | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Answers questions about your security posture, risks, or vendor exposure, using context from your data | A preconfigured analysis that runs several steps automatically to answer a defined question |
| What you provide | A question. More specific questions produce more specific answers. | A workflow, plus a selection if the workflow asks for one |
| What it returns | An answer based on your data. | For each result, the finding, why it matters, and what to do about it |
| Best for | Ad hoc investigation, exploring one area of concern, getting context before a meeting or decision, and drilling into findings across your organization or supply chain | Routine multi-step security reviews, vendor risk assessments and prioritization, attack surface analysis and exposure mapping, and emerging threat triage and impact analysis |
For the list of workflows, see Bitsight AI Mode agentic workflows: what they are and how to run them.
