To best manage risk, using the Bitsight-curated version rather than the self-published rating is suggested for your portfolio. However, your approach may vary depending on your relationships with the companies in your portfolio.
You may also refer to the primary rating, which is highlighted by the organization as the segment of their network infrastructure that better reflects their security posture.

Curated by Bitsight. A Bitsight curated rating is made up of the resulting network footprint, as outlined in the network mapping process. This is the default designation. |
| Privately published | These are created by an organization for internal use and are not available for other organizations to monitor. They do not appear in searches by other organizations. |
| Provisional | Companies that have not yet been fully mapped. While a Provisional Rating report is accurate, it may be missing some information when compared to a fully mapped, Bitsight-curated Rating report. |
| Self-Published | A self-published rating has its own report. Self-published companies consist of CIDR blocks, IP addresses, and domains that are specifically selected by the company itself, rather than curated by Bitsight. |
