If you've requested access to the Bitsight Security Ratings Platform for one of your third parties through the Client/Vendor Access Program but are still waiting for them to accept and respond, it may be for one of these reasons:
Reason | What You Can Do |
---|---|
Their organization's internal policy may not allow them to access the Bitsight platform. | Reach out to your contact to find out what might be contributing to any delay in response. It can help to have a conversation with them ahead of time to identify any of these issues prior to sending the access request and to set the stage for any questions/concerns you might need them to investigate. |
They may need approval from someone at their organization prior to logging in due to legal or organizational reasons. | |
They may be working with a colleague to determine whether they need input from someone else on their team to effectively respond to your concerns. | |
It may be unclear to them why they've received this invitation or what action is expected of them. | Be sure to include a message with your invitation to the Bitsight platform so your contact can understand the context of the access request. You can also share specific records with them so there’s no question about what you’d like them to investigate or remediate. |
The individual you've contacted may not be the best person to respond to your concerns or may be unavailable. | Have a conversation with the primary contact at your third party to make sure they are, in fact, the right person to address your concerns or questions. If they aren’t, work with them to identify someone who can better assist. |
If multiple people at the same organization received your request at one time, it may be unclear to them who should take action or respond to your concerns. | Try to send your requests to a single point of contact along with as much context as possible so they know what you’re expecting. For instance, you can include a detailed message with your access request or share specific records from the Bitsight platform that you’d like them to look into. It’s also helpful to have a conversation ahead of time to set the stage for your access request. |
If you are having trouble getting your third parties to respond to your invitations to the Bitsight platform, we recommend following the suggestions provided above. When in doubt, a conversation with your third party is a great place to start.
