Glossary of Terms: Bitsight VRM

These terms are used across the Bitsight VRM products.

Finding

Questions or concerns that can be communicated to the third party being assessed and include expected remediation plan or outcome. Findings provide a way to kick off conversations about issues that may arise within an assessment.

Internal Contacts

The contacts within your organization that are responsible for working the assessment, maintain the business relationship with the third party organization, and/or requested the assessments.

Internal Documents

Any documentation that contributed to the assessment and is best stored within the vendor record.

Multi-Profiles

Having multiple profiles, which enhances operational efficiency.

Profile

A profile represents a company segment that operates with enough independence to justify separate management within the Vendor Risk Management (VRM) or Trust Management Hub (TMH) applications.

Vendor Alias

Ties associated vendor domains together. The primary web presence domains are matched with any children domains and/or email domains.
