Peer Analytics can be used to:
- Determine the level of security performance that a company should attain with the Rating Distribution chart.
- Profile organizations for communication and benchmarking purposes.
- Understand how specific factors drive security performance.
- Use the Risk Vector Gap Analysis chart for guidance on achieving a security rating goal or achieving parity with the best-in-class.
- Determine the initial conditions for how forecasting should be used, by identifying the right level of performance to strive for and the areas of improvement to focus on.
Actions
The following actions are available at the top-right of the Peer Analytics page:
Edit Peer Group
The Edit Peer Group section shows the selected company and their rating.
- Use the Reset All Filter link at the top-right of this section to reset all filters.
- Define the peer group from the following sections and then select Save Peer Group at either the bottom or the top-right of this page.
Field Description Peer Group Company Details Filter by one of the following:
- Number of Employees
- Number of Unique Services
- Rating Range
Peer Group Definition Define the company group based on industry or ranking. Peer Group Location Filter by region and country.

The Peer Analytics dashboard provides the following information:
Peer Group Distribution
The Peer Group Distribution over Rating Ranges chart in the Overview tab displays how your selected company is performing within the peer group.
- Security Rating Range (X-axis): 20-point rating ranges.
- % of Peer Group in Rating Range (Y-axis): How many companies in the peer group have that rating.
The Risk Vector Performance section indicates how your organization’s risk vectors are performing against the peer group.

Significant Comparisons
The Peer Analytics Overview tab shows the top 10 of the following categories, including the percentage of companies within the peer group that are affected:
Top Infections in Peer Group | Infections affect the Compromised Systems risk category. |
Top Open Ports in Peer Group | Shows ports that are exposed to the Internet, known as “open ports.” |
Top Vulnerabilities in Peer Group | “Vulnerabilities” are publicly disclosed holes or bugs in software, hardware, or encryption methods. Information about Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) is obtained from the National Vulnerability Database (NVD). |
Top Unsupported Software in Peer Group | End-user systems that are using outdated (unsupported) operating systems or versions of web browsers. |
