Comparison company groups are used to compare a group of companies for Peer Analytics and Benchmarking.
Comparison Group Types
Benchmark Group
Benchmark groups allow you to group companies for benchmarking. They have the same metrics and are interchangeable with peer groups.
Use the Benchmarking page to manage your benchmark group.
Peer Group
Peer groups can be used to compare and define your desired level of security performance and determine how it can be achieved with an objective, data-driven approach. Designate a peer group for comparing your selected company against. Redefine your peer group at any time.
Your peer group can be based either on industry or ranking.
Use the Peer Analytics page to manage your peer group.
Industry
If based on industry, the group can be further defined by:
Filter | Description |
---|---|
Industries | Limit the peer group to companies in one industry. This defaults to your own industry. |
Sub-Industries | Limit the peer group to companies in one or more sub-industries. This defaults to all sub-industries. |
Region | Limit the peer group by region. This defaults to all regions. |
Country | Limit the peer group to one or more countries in your chosen region. This defaults to all countries in your chosen region. |
Number of Employees |
Limit the peer group to companies with a similar number of employees. If the peer group set is small, "similar" filters may try to expand the peer group set until reaching approximately 100 companies. |
Number of Unique Services |
Limit the peer group to companies with a similar number of unique services. Companies in the same industry with roughly the same number of employees may have very different Internet presences. This filter uses the number of unique open host-port sets at a company to better determine a similar peer group. If the peer group set is small, "similar" filters may try to expand the peer group set until reaching approximately 100 companies. |
Rating Range | Limit the peer group to companies with Bitsight ratings that fall within a specified range. |
The peer group must have a minimum of 100 companies that meet these requirements.
Ranking
Ranking is based on groups of companies.
