Vulnerability Detection: Accelerate Vendor Outreach

Bitsight’s Vulnerability Detection feature surfaces portfolio vulnerabilities, pinpointing potentially exposed vendors. Vulnerability Response enables you to convert this data into action by initiating and tracking vendor outreach at scale during major security events.

Vulnerability Response is available in the Continuous Monitoring and Cyber Insurance apps.

Locating and Monitoring Vulnerabilities

Vulnerabilities can be accessed via: 

• the Latest Updates card on your dashboard for immediate response to major events
• or through the Vulnerability Detection page for a comprehensive portfolio view

From these views, you can see potentially impacted vendors and open the Vulnerability Detection table to investigate further. 

Once outreach is initiated, monitor progress via the Questionnaires page where you can filter by tier or folder to identify the highest risks.

Step-by-Step Outreach Guide

1. Identify vendors. Use filters to narrow the scope of vendors. Select vendors and click Send Questionnaire (limit 60 at a time).
2. Add emails. Enter up to five recipients and three CCs per vendor. Collaboration Contacts are pre-populated if available.
3. Configure the email template. Customize the standardized email sent to all selected vendors.
4. Preview the questionnaire. Review the standardized questions.
5. Preview and Submit. Review the final email, which includes vulnerability details and masked evidence. Click Submit Questionnaires to begin tracking responses.
