How To Assign Asset Importance

Asset importance (low, medium, high, critical, or none) estimates the importance of the underlying IP or domain/host to the organization, as visually depicted in the Asset Risk Matrix. To set user-assigned asset importance:

1. Use the Context Switcher dropdown from top of the Security Posture Management application to select a company.
2. Go to the Assets tab of the Infrastructure page [ Attack Surface ➔ Infrastructure ➔ Assets].
3. Identify up to 40 assets to customize by checking the Checkbox of the corresponding rows.
4. Select the Update Importance button at the top of the table.
5. Select a new importance level, which is used to display data in the Asset Risk Matrix and filtering, from the Asset Importance dropdown in the Customize Asset Importance window.
   • Calculated Importance
   • Critical
   • High
   • Medium
   • Low
   • None = Excludes assets, providing a more precise prioritization of findings (e.g., Guest Wi-Fi network exit IPs).
6. Select Save.
